Hello, I'm

Sheila Mansell

I'm a therapeutic coach, with over 20 years of experience in counselling, who specializes in helping clients get un-stuck.

Coaching vs. Counselling

Counselling involves the delicate art of understanding, resolving, and healing emotional trauma and pain, often rooted in the past.Coaching, in contrast, is centered around the present and future. It helps individuals clarify goals, harness personal strengths, and take proactive steps forward. Coaches ask more thoughtful and challenging questions to foster growth and progress rather than focus primarily on analyses of the past.

Did you know?

Statistically...

--> 99% of coaching clients say that coaching was worth the investment, stating being either, 'very satisfied', or 'satisfied'.
--> 87% of coaching clients have reported increased confidence or self-esteem thanks to coaching.
--> 28% of millennials receive coaching, the highest percentage of any generation in the workplace.

What is therapeutic coaching?

The ideal solution for those who aren't struggling with severe mental health issues, but seeking help to navigate life's obstacles and realize their full potential.

After years of providing counselling services, I noticed a gap in the market for therapeutic coaching. While many individuals may not require traditional counselling, they do seek support from a coach with a therapeutic approach and background. The number one comment I've gotten from clients in the past is that I intuitively find the roots of an issue rather quickly. Clients stated benefiting more from time spent with me than any other mental health professional. As your therapeutic coach, I'm here to guide and empower you through life's toughest chapters. Together, we'll uncover your inner strengths, and pave the path to a happier, more fulfilling life. Whether it be personal, or professional, goals we'll find actionable solutions.

Why I chose coaching

I was working in a different field with a partner when we were mandated to take counselling. The counsellor was chosen for us. We weren't allowed to switch. At the time, I had a lot of anxiety. The counsellor told me he felt I would never fully recover, never get off anti-depressants, or be able to maintain my spiritual practices because of the situation I was dealing with. Speaking to him was demoralizing and hopeless. It shocked my system enough to make me want to become a therapist. I told myself that at least I’d give people hope amid chaos. So, that’s what I did. I enrolled into a graduate degree in counselling. I got off anti-depressants within six months and thrived – proving the counsellor’s predictions wrong on all counts. He was the only reason I enrolled in the program, but it quickly became apparent that counselling, and later coaching, are my calling. I have not looked back since. I love to see people transform - to help them reach their potential by using their unique gifts and talents in the world. I have a gift for helping people who feel stuck. I'm blessed that it's a vocation I'm gifted in and love. Additionally, I have extensive experience and education for.Someone else choosing the wrong career as a therapist is what led me to see that it was the right field for me. Often in life, our darkest moments become the fertile soil that allows us to flourish and grow.
